NV Gives Up Privacy Print E-mail

Thanks to Roger Krogen who has been a registered agent in Nevada for over a decade for supplying the following news.

Nevada has begun notifying ALL Nevada corporations and LLCs that they must purchase a Business Tax Permit for $100 — even if they are not doing any business inside the state. But it gets worse. The application requires:

  • Name and title of all owners
  • Their percent of ownership
  • RESIDENCE address (no PO box)
  • Social Security number
  • Date of birth and
  • Phone number

It also requires a responsible local representative and records must be kept for four years.

There goes the privacy that has long been the attraction of Nevada corporations. Roger says he is advising his clients to close their Nevada entity and reform it in Wyoming. He says that in less than two years you recover the expenses it takes to reform there since their annual fee is only $50 compared to Nevada’s $225.

Of course, the privacy is more important than the costs and Wyoming does a pretty good job. The strategies used with the Nevada entities will work for Wyoming as well.

Roger Krogen is setting up Wyoming corporations and LLCs and can be contacted at 702-873-8216
